Contingent Workforce Solutions Recognized for 10,330% two-year Revenue Growth in the 12th Annual PROFIT HOT 50 Ranking

Managing Contract and Project Labour now a Must-Have for Companies

August 31, 2011(Toronto) Contingent Workforce Solutions, with over 10,330% growth inthe past two years, today was named Canada’s Top New Growth Company by the 12th Annual PROFIT HOT 50 Ranking.  Contingent Workforce Solutions has achieved this growth while riding the trend toward employers engaging with more and more contract and temporary talent. By providing companies with the technology and process management services that properly account for, manage and administer their contract workers, Contingent Workforce Solutions helps its clients manage their contract worker head count and line item expense.

Contingent Workforce Solutions was founded to meet the industry need to help companies properly manage contract and temporary human resources. The recession has caused companies to cut back on full-time employees and rely more on cost-effective qualified contract workers. At the same time, baby boomers and Gen Yers are turning to independent contracting to make money in a tough job market, while also learning to enjoy the benefits and flexibility of working for themselves.

In fact, contract and temporary workers now account for more than 20% of most organizations’ workforces while also being one of their largest expenses.  “Companies can no longer afford to do without the tools that allow them to account for and properly manage their contract labour,” says Jeff Nugent, Managing Director of CWS. “It’s no longer a luxury item — it’s a need.”

CWS partners with its clients to streamline the management of their contingent workers and ensure their contractors have the work status and health and safety certifications required to be compliant with employment and tax law.  Contingent Workforce Solutions’ SimplicityVMS software enables organizations to keep track of and properly administer their contract labour expenditures throughout the organization. In addition to its corporate clients, such as Bank of Montreal, Sobeys, Walmart and Enbridge, CWS’ Simplicity software is also used by recruiting firms that provide it as a value-add to their clients.

CWS is especially honoured to receive this award from the PROFIT HOT 50 amid competition from Canada’s top new growth companies. “The PROFIT HOT 50 exhibits all of the traits that underpin business success,” says PROFIT editor Ian Portsmouth. “With good products, persistent and focused leaders and motivated teams, Canada’s Top New Growth companies have achieved enviable growth rates despite a shaky economy.”

“Our goal is to work with companies and take some of the stress related to managing contract labour off their plates so they can focus on and be more successful at their core business,” says Nugent.  “We also want to empower Canadians to not fear becoming self-employed, independent contractors and being more successful. As this self-employed empowerment takes shape, we feel this will lead to more innovation and a stronger economy as a whole.”

Jeff Nugent of Contingent Workforce Solutions to Present at the Canadian Masters in HR Strategy and Execution Virtual Workshops

Jeff Nugent, the Founder & Managing Director of Contingent Workforce Solutions, will be speaking at the Canadian Masters in HR Strategy and Execution Virtual Workshops on August 26th, 2011.  Jeff’s session will focus on the topic of Contract Workforce Management – Building an Internal Talent Exchange.

The Contract Workforce is the fastest growing sector of the North American workforce and now accounts for between 25-30% of the total workforce. With a fundamental shift in the demographics of the workforce under way and the current uncertain economic times, Human Resource professionals are recognizing that an agile workforce that can expand and contract to meet the peaks and valleys of the business demand is the new reality.

In order to be ready to meet the demands of the new workforce HR professionals must start taking a holistic view of their entire workforce and build models to hire talent and integrate the contract workers into their talent mix.

During his session Jeff Nugent the Founder and Managing Director of Contingent Workforce Solutions will walk session attendees through the process of building proactive contract talent pools to create their own “just in time” labor pools. From building contractor applicant tracking systems, to setting up retiree and alumni programs to developing and executing contractor social media recruitment programs Jeff will present industry leading practices that will help employers hire contract workers directly without the use of staffing firms and their expensive markup fees.

Also, as an expert in contract workforce management and tax and employment legislation Jeff will highlight the benefits of using simple 3rd contract workforce engagement models that will help employers gain visibility, ensure compliance with internal policy and external employment and tax law all while streamlining the process, mitigating risk and saving employers a ton of money.

Jeff’s webcast will take place on August 26th, 2011 from 2 PM – 3 PM.
